I am flying to Poland in April and wanted to know how long the flight would be (it seems most stop over in Frankfurt, Germany).
Also, my husband, as much as he would like to see Europe is TERRORFIED of flying.
He has flown twice as an adult -- under 1 hour trips both times. I flew with him one of those times and he was so tense it made me nervous (and my father is a pilot, I've flown a plane myself and am a frequent passenger).
Is there anything that could keep him calm for such a long flight? I would like him to be able to enjoy Europe, but not if it means X hours of torture.

11 hours 33 minutes of total flying time plus your layover. It's a total of 4,893 statute miles. This, of course will vary with wind speeds, type and weight of aircraft etc. You can get any flight time or distance estimates at: http://www.jets.com/

Good luck with the trip.

Bring as much comfort as you can. I usually have several inflatable pillows, eyeshades, a DVD player, iPod, books, comfy slippers. Drink lots of water, no booze or coffee (they dehydrate) so he'll feel better when he lands.
