My 3 year old son woke up whinny this morning.... I gave him a cup of milk... he puked almosat immediatly after finishing the about 4 oz. cup! I felt his forehead, he felt about 99. just a little feverish! He puked about 4 more times within the time of an hour! He was acting like he felt fine the whole time mind you, wanting to play and what not! The hasn't puked in about 7 hours now, is still a little whinny, a little feverish, he is playing, and kept down juice and soup with crackers! Is he sick, or did he eat something bad? Should I try and let him eat solid foods, or what? Just some information would be nice! Thanks!

If he's acting normal and keeping food and liquid down I'd say that's a good sign.
Does he have diarhea? Is his stomach distended? Does he look pale, have dark circles? I don't think he ate something bad.
Maybe he has a mild stomach virus. Meanwhile, if he begins to vomit again or his fever spikes call ask a nurse. I HATE taking the kids to the doctor but sometimes you have to get a proffessional opinion in order to have real peace of mind. Your gut will tell you when it's time to call the doctor. Just baby him, let him eat or drink whatever he likes, even if it's icecream and cookies. As long as he's keeping it down, who cares. Push liquids........jello, popsicles....a little tylenol or motrin to help him feel more comfortable, a luke warm bath to play in, cozy, loose and not to hot pajamas.
See what the morning brings.........best of luck.

Keep him on clear liquids for 24 hours. Take his temperature with a thermometer, not by guessing. Sometimes they have an internal fever, that you can't feel. If his temperature is higher than the guideline temp. his doctor gave you, call them immediately. It sounds like he might have a stomach bug. Try researching his symptoms on webmd.com. If you're still concerned, call and speak to his doctor. They'll let you know whether you should bring him or not. And yes, it does sound like he's sick. Hope this helps. MAKE SURE HE GETS PLENTY OF FLUIDS!

It is probably just a virus, but you should watch him carefully and if he starts vomiting again I would get him to a dr. A small child can dehydrate very, very quickly.

As well as juice etc make sure he has water. You should boil the water and let it cool. Also, solid foods are ok but some foods should be avoided, ie meat, dairy and anything with fat. Try to keep it light.; Egg whites are good.

One of the great things about kids' bodies is how they take care of themselves. Usually, (but not always) kids crave what their bodies need. He probably won't want milk, I agree that it will curdle in his stomach. Bland food, whatever it is he's hungry for. Keep pushing the fluids. Bad food would have caused a reaction sooner, so he more than likely has a little bug. The little fever is good for him, it helps his body fight off the infection. Try not to give him anything for it if you can help it. Just give him hugs and cuddles for his whinies, and ride it out.

He probably was sick, but it sounds like it has passed.

Try the BRAT diet, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. If he is fine after that, you can probably go on ahead and give solids.

You lucky duck!!! When my kids get a tummy bug, all six of them catch it, so I have 6 puking kids for about three to four days!!!

Yep, I'd say he's fine.

I would say clear liquids for 24 hours and then semi solid foods the next day. This will help speed the healing process. Good luck!

I would say he probably had a mild case of stomach flu. You can try to give him some bland solid food, but I would hold off on milk for a little longer. It can curdle in his belly, and make him puke again.

Keep him on electrolyte solution for 24 hours. Sounds like a bug. If he's not better Sunday, then doctor.
