I have really fine, thin hair and the styles out now are just not flattering. I always liked the spiral perm. I would even be happy with a body wave of some kind...something!
Anybody know if perms will come back?

I would try a very loose spiral perm.
If you're looking for some volume to your hair, perms are a godsend.
They're harsh on your hair and I don't recommend it to just anyone, but if you know what you're getting yourself into, then go for it.
A body wave is an excellenct option too. Just make sure you go to someone that's done a few of them before.

They have never really gone away
If you really insist on having a perm obtain a picture of the style you desire and show it to stylist at a salon to see if they can recreate it for you, but remember you will be stuck with your perm for months until it grows out
try a roller set in perm rods to see how you like your hair curly
