I never wore my boxers under my P.J. bottoms-I rarely wear tops, just a T-shirt- but my long-time companion from Nicaragua, always wore undies under her camisole and tried getting me to wear my boxers undrer my pajamas...but what a pain to take off later on...and why? We wear P.J.'s in place of clothes, don't we?

I barely wear undies at all either and I think other cultures are more discreet and formal than we are here in the states. I can't imagine wearing underwear to bed.

I have to agree with the previous answers here. It's a personal preference thing and nothing more. I personally don't wear pj's OR underwear to bed. They always end up getting twisted or pinching. The sheet and blankets are plenty to keep warm under. I also know a lot of people who share that feeling. Sure, some folks say it's dirty and disgusting to sleep naked. That's their opinion, and they are free to dress up for bed if they like. Some are paranoid of getting their pj's dirty if they don't wear underwear. But the extremes some people go to for "proper" bedclothes, you'd think they sleep in a department store's display window or something! The bedroom is (or should be) private. Do and wear whatever you like there.

This is definitely a personal preference thing.... my husband never wears boxers under his pj bottoms....he says it's just a pain to wear both @ the same time... I think it all comes down to what makes you comfortable.....( I don't wear underwear to bed either)

I think that pjs are instead of clothes. Some people think that our privates are dirty and should always be covered by underwear. I think that is really silly. We were born naked and it is totally natural.
