God didn't intend people to die, but Adam and Eve made him change his mind--they did something he did not want them to do, and that sin against God started the Birth/Dying cycle.
Old people die for many reasons.
1. They've done what God sent them down to earth for, or
2. There body has just worn out or become sick.
God created man in his own image from the dirt on the ground. He took a rib from Adam, the man, and created a woman, Eve.

I'm a nurse and a Christian. I believe that everyone has a purpose in life. I think that we are all here on this earth for a reason. I have seen people die that I thought would live and vise versa. Try looking at death in another way. Those people who have passed on, you can carry them in your heart forever. God is in control and always remember that. God is there for you and knows how you feel. Talk to him about your feelings and get through this, I know you can do it. Take care and remember to hold those precious moments in your heart forever.
