I believe your problem may be a type of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
I use to have the same issues. It can really drive you crazy.
I had to learn different ways to help me relax, like immediately find something new to focus my thoughts on when I would start to think of some sort of strange pain.
If you start to have any other issues, like if the thoughts get worse or if you develop other mental problems, see a doc. Otherwise, I say do your own research and find ways to divert your attention elsewhere when you start to get those thoughts.

Hi there

firstly I want to say don't worry about things that haven't happened. Because they probably never will. When we worry about things like that, it's not real because it's just liked this hyped up irrational fear about things that won't happen. It's not a nice thought having your nails fall off, but, realistically, it's not going to happen. When you start to have these thoughts just be realistic with yourself and say no, that isn't going to happen. It's not going to happen to you any more than it's going to happen to anyone else.

Your thoughts that you're having might stem back to something that happened in the past like having a pain or something happening and now you're worrying about anything that could happen?

When we have these thoughts we feel out of control and fearful. Live in the moment. Don't worry about what might happen.

I think simply understanding maybe something that's happened in the past will sort it out. Hypnotherapy would be worth a go to help you get to the root of why you think like this. It could help you remember something from the past that is now making you have these thoughts and fears.

I hope I've been of some use

well I can't really help I can say that I have something like that. if the end of one my nails goes under another one my nails I really flip out for some reason and feel the need to push down on the nail that was pushed up. I know my nails aren't going to fall off but they feel like they do. I also have a problem with the pop-tops on cans and even soda cans as they make me feel like my nail will break. That is why I trim my nails extremely short.

In response to the person who posted below me:
I know logically that my nails will probably never fall off but when this happens to me I have a minor body spasm that I think is out of my control. This still happens if I put my nails under each other on purpose too.

Oh and I want to say sorry to conie because I feel like I'm bogarting your question.
