Put the dog on lead. When he jumps up, tell him "NO" and then make him sit. Praise him when he sits. Also, don't push him down when he does this, as he will think you are playing a game. You need to work on this while he is on lead. Remember to praise him when he has done something that you want him to do.

Go to your local pet store, they sell a harness that has a strap that goes around the back of their thighs, when they jump it tugs on the back legs and makes the dog feel unstable so in res-ponce they stop the negative jumping. I'm not exactly sure what its proper name is but that should tell the store what you're looking for

Jumping is a very common problem in dogs. There are lots of different way to sop jumping some harsher than other. This is the wat we taught my golden retriever to stop jumping and it works and is very simple. Ignore him while he is jumping on you, cross your arms and look up. As soon as he has all four feet on the ground pet and praise him. If he goes to jump up again do the same thing. Be sure to tell of the other people in your household to do it too and any guests coming in. Like I said this way you are not hurting your dog in any way and it is easy and simple to do and I know it works. Good Luck!

When he jumps, don't touch him or interact with him at all. Don't even look at him. Just turn around so his legs fall off of your body and firmly say no. Keep doing that until he stops. Let him calm down and tell him to sit, then praise and pet him and give him treats. He is doing that for attention so if you make sure your guests do that also, he'll learn that he doesn't get attention by jumping up but by being calm.

he's dominating you. Don't let him. Ignore him when he does, don't look at him, say nothing but down and push him down.

In general, do not let him walk in front of you ESPECIALLY going in and out of the house, do things on your terms not his, don't feed him before yourself, don't give him your food, lie on top of him sometimes, don't let him pee or stop to smell unless you decide its OK...

For more information about how to be a great leader and have a great dog, watch the Dog Whisperer, or read his book Caesar's Way. If you can, go to a seminar. Remember, that obedience does not mean he is following you or that you are a good leader.

Well I've heard that all dogs are different, but I got my golden retriever to stop, too. What I did may sound mean, but i definitely worked. Whenever he jumped, I'd prop his arms on my shoulders for about 5 minutes, and did this everytime he jumped.

When you get to your house and as soon as he tries to jump on you say NO, very angry NO and grab him and force him down , when he is down say GOOD DOGGIE, and pet him while he is down, tries to jump again, say NO and put him down again and so on so on.

He is just so glad to see you, but it is a game of "who's the boss" so you want to make sure he understands you are the ONE in that household. It takes some time but it works.

teach him the word "off" push him off you and when all 4 feet are on the ground praise and say good "off" if he is persistent m, when he is jumping on you simply hold his two front paws way by your sides for an extended period of time.. he is eventually going to get tired from standing on his hind legs and then he is going to want to get down.. don't let him...... you see the dog thinks he wants to jump up because it is fun.. you will show him that it isn't so fun.... anyway, tell him off after awhile and then when all 4 feet are on the ground praise him, scratch him and say good "off" you may apply unpleasant pressure to his feet while you are holding him there to make jumping up not so fun.... be prepared , he is going to try to mouth your hands while you are doing this, keep your hands way to each side of your body while holding paws ( for persistent dogs - you can even tap on his hind feet with your feet) they hate this,,, Dogs only do things that are fun... this won't be fun for long.. DO NOT HURT DOG or kick dog in chest ever... just try to make the dog think that jumping up will result in paw trap.. lol good luck,, let me know how this works for you or if you have any questions

When he jumps on you raise your knee so it hits him in the chest, not hard or anything just raise it he will hit your knee with his chest and it will wind him. He will hate that feeling and he will stop after time but be presistant!! I did this with my Rotts and it worked great!

Try grabbing his collar sitting him down and say NO! firmly! Do it everytime he does it and then in time he will understand.
