My boyfriend and I are both about to start college. He's going to MIT, while I'm heading to California. We've been going out for 4 years and we don't want to just end this relationship, but on the other hand, we're both going to be extremely busy, so we might not have time to contact each other. What do you think we should do?

Mutually cut the commitment between each of you to pursue your respective lives. Get together at Christmas and share stories. Do even begin to thin k that this will last. You will end up cheating on each other and will also resent one another. Do the right thing. If you are meant to be together, Fate & Destiny will bring you back together after you have both "done you thing".

Well, There is always time to contact a person, I don't care what anyone says..everyone has 5 minutes in their day to contact someone..(INCLUDING FAMILY)..will it work? only the tow of you can decide that..I guess time will tell as you are both apart from each other, if you love eachother most likly yes, but it's important to keep contact and no be upset with each other and think stupid things like "Is that person seeing someone behoind my back etc" keep it honest and it will work for sure

Its easy to say you are (or should) stay with him. But that much distance is going to be hard. Unless your family is wealthy, you cant make weekend trips (or even monthly trips) across country.
Plus, the schools you are going to attend are tough schools. You need the time to study! You wont have time to lament over distance between and time lost between you two,
It sucks. Just cut it off now. See each other at Christmas and focus on school.

You're both basically starting brand new lives, will be meeting new people, busy studying, etc. I know I wouldn't want the stress of an ldr on top of that. They are tough as it is, without the extra challenges you both will be facing.

in my opion i thnk no matter how much you trust him their is a huge change he will forget about you. If you both are busy ... as much as you guys love each other i thin its time to move on....but on the other hand you guys can still be friends!
