Yes. My son has red hair. I have brown, my ex husband( who is his father) has blond. My great grandfather had red hair so it was in my genes

My husband has a dark complexion and black hair and dark brown eyes. I have dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Our daughter is very pale with hazel eyes and dark blonde hair. Our son is also very pale with bright blue eyes and white hair. So you just never know. My SIL also has dark hair along with her husband. You can imagine her suprise at having two redheads! I also don't get why you'd be asking "if it's possible." Obviously the child is here with these traits so of course it's possible. Not sure if you are hinting that maybe there's another possibility for the father? Confusing.

Well I have brown hair, my husband is brown that turns blonde at the drop of a dime--he was blonde as a child--and our oldest is as red as red can be! My father was a red head and both of his parents had black hair. I have brown eyes but my Dad had gray and my mother green. HMMMM!!!

Frankly those red heads pop up rather unexpectedly often skipping some generations! I know a couple who are both red headed and they have a brunette and a blonde?!!!

You bet! You need to look at more than just the mom and dad. What about the grandparents, aunt, uncles...I am blonde, my husband has dark brown hair and we have a redhead. My great-aunt was a redhead. Go figure!

If there's a redhead in the family somewhere, it's possible.

I have a good friend who has three redheaded kids... she and the dad are both brunettes. We used to give them kind of a hard time about "What color hair does the mailman have" and so forth, until the dad grew out his (bright red) beard.

Yes, but it doesn't matter if it runs in the family. Red hair and green eyes are actually due to a mixing of genes. For instance, Malcolm X had red hair and if I remember correctly neither his parents or grandparents had red hair. My point is that red hair and green eyes occur in just about every race and creed and is not due to being a recessive or dominant gene.

Yes, there is a possibility, but the gene for haircolor is a mosaic, meaning that it is not simply inheriting a dominant and recessive gene combination. the same is true for eye color.
For instance, both my parents have hazel eyes and brown hair. Including myself, there are six children. Two are blond, and four brunette. One of the blonds is very light with blue eyes, the other is a strawberry blonde with hazel eyes. Of the brunettes, three are dark, and one has very auburn lights. Two of the brunettes have brown eyes, one is hazel eyed and one is blue eyed.
Incidentally, all of their grandchildren are blond hair and blue eyed.

Sometimes genetics skip some genes and are hidden until later generations. One parent might have a red haired decendant and it might come out in the future generations.

if you have blonde hair this will naturally get bleached by the sun in the summer. There has been this guy in my class who also had golden blonde hair that was a medium brown near the bottom. When he came back to college after summer vacation, it was nearly platinum blonde!
