I was raised French Canadian. My daughter (age 5) also speaks french but learns English in school - she know more than me. Should we move back to Quebec? Now in Ontario.

What a wonderful life experience you have! You have many, many choices of nice places to live, either English-speaking or Francophone. There are many branches of Riviere College around the United States and Canada- a Catholic college which was originally founded to help French women who needed help to get an education and a career, and still maintains much of that historical tradition of service, but is now quite a diverse college. I would consider contacting them, to see if they know of a place where you could improve your English. In addition, I would have a time set aside each day, so that your daughter would continue to speak French with you during that time, so that she will not forget as she grows older.

There are many adult learners of English, and while they may or may not develop native accents, eventually they speak and write it quite acceptably. My maternal grandparents came to the U.S.A. without knowing English, and had to learn it. As a girl, I was in awe of them, because of their wonderful life experience, even though neither of them had a true native accent in English. My mother, whose English was letter perfect and got A's in college English, respected them every bit as much as I did! When your daughter grows up, she will look at you quite diffrerently than she does now, and I believe that she will look up to you.

You don't give any reason why or why not? Are you uncomfortable with your daughter speaking English? I thought both English and French were official languages in Quebec. She really should be bilingual, as you should too.

I wouldn't suggest uprooting your daughter, and as long as she is happy, it shouldn't matter. If she is able to be fluent in both languages, that will also open up many opportunities for her as she gets older.
