i live in the dallas, tx area and i am looking for a female dachshund puppy to eventually breed with my 1 year old male .. i don't want to pay out the wazzoo for one either .. can anyone help me?

yes its ok, but make sure they're the same breed like dasch. to dasch. like my dog my male puppy dasch. is only 9 months and my female dasch. is 2 yrs old. and they're puppies are more cute and have a nice combination of color! like this are the parents

You could look in a PennySavers or in a newspaper for some breeders. The breeders might like to breed their dog. If they say yes you should be prepared for the puppies. Don't forget you have to pay a lot of money for the puppies shots.

NO NO NO why would you breed?? Have you shown your dog in conformation? How does he compare to the dachshund breed standard? are you prepared to offer health guarantees for your puppy buyers? You should contact AKC for a list of reputable breeders - then contact one and learn all you can - chances are you will leave the breeding to them and just buy a pup if you want another dog. SHAME ON INDISCRIMINATE backyard breeders.

they are all pricey if your looking for full breed. check in the local classifieds, their usually not too bad.
