Making hotdogs tonight and was wondering if anyone could provide a few recipes and/or ideas for toppings. I know that there isn't much to preparing a hotdog--I mean, a little chili, cheese, onion, and relish is pretty much all that it takes for me. Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind "jazzing" my dog up a bit. Any suggestions?

Here is a good one. Try a small onion freshly picked from your garden and stick it thru the middle of dog and grill it. Another, My wife makes these ,the croissants that you buy in a tube, open them and separate then take a 1/2 slice of American cheese and place on each one, then 1 hot dog,and roll it up, place on cookie sheet bake 350 tilll done, there great

I just had this for the first time and it was really good. Heat the buns in the oven and melt a piece of Am cheese on the bun. The dog goes on top and leaves lots of room for the rest of your toppings.

With onion salt, onions, mustard and ketchup...I like the lot. I know some people put sweetcorn on theirs, but surely it must fall out? Also a spoon full of baked beans. Nothing adventurous

By itself ... blackened on the grill. In a casserole with baked beans and shredded Cheddar cheese is good too! My grandfather use to slice them thin, and cook them in with scrambled eggs and potatoes ... YUM!
