If you are over the age of 10 and it is still very vascular, it is probably not a hemangioma. Some doctors will refer to any vascular anomaly as a hemangioma, but true hemangiomas occur only in infants, and lose their vascular quality during involution (though some permanently leave scars or discolored skin).

A good place to start your search for treatment is the Vascular Birthmark Foundation. They can help you find a doctor to evaluate your condition.

Small, superficial hemangiomas should disappear completely on their own. Recently, lasers have been used to reduce the bulk of the hemangiomas. Lasers emitting yellow light selectively damage the vessels in the hemangioma without damaging the overlying skin. Some physicians are using a combination of steroid injection and laser therapy together.
Please see the web pages for more details on Hemangioma.

I don't know if you're asking for yourself or for a child but in children, they sometimes resolve without intervention over time. However, it can be excised. Any Head and Neck surgeon can do this and your primary doctor can refer you to one. If you have PPO insurance or are a cash patient, refer to your provider directory (for PPOs) and look for an Otolaryngologist. For cash patients, you can go the website for the AMA and look up a doctor by specialty.
