my mom won't let me..?

Question

ok so im muslim and you know how in our religion we have to cover.I cant show my hair but i can only wear it up at school.I wear it down at parties and stuff but i dont get why i cant? i mean a lot of mulims wear there hair down too and i dont see anything wrong with it. I've sat down and talked but.... i know her answer....follow your religion but everyone at school asks me why i dont wear my hair down and i say i cant..... i know the right thing to is is probably "listen to your mom" well if that is....can you give me tips on hairstyles i could wear to school? i have long hair-past my shoulders- ends at the mid of my back thnx : )

this is pretty cool. I am a muslim and I go to a public school in U.S. I also wear hijab. I know how you feel. it can be very frustrating. The trick is to put your hair in a bun on the top of your head and wear beautiful scarves. Thats what I do.

What your mom doesn't know doesn't hurt right? I say leave wearing your hair up, when you get to school, take it down, then put it back up just before you leave. If this isn't possible (if you have someone who would tell on you) then you will just have to bite the bullet and wear it up. I believe that the child should be able to chose their own religion and style of religion. If this is something that you really believe in then maybe don't risk it. Good luck!

well i think you should try these hairstyles

#1 take a white hair band or a black one and put it on your hair then if you have long hair (the your chest ) you can put two plats on or you could make some small plates on with something like 4 or 5 streaks of hair and then leave them open

#2 you can take two fancy hair pin and put them on your left and right side of your hair and do some small plates with some streaks of hair or make to pony tails (down ways) or make one high ponytail

#3 make the root of you hair (the palish white line in the hair ) not be straight it could work with anything zig zag or any other style but it doesn't have to be a certain patttern then leave your hair open and roll them from down take some one streak of hair from your front side and leave them behind you ear and then tie your hair any style you like

#3 you could stick some hair out from the front and tie it at the back your pony could be high or low it doesn't matter you could put some black or white shiny hair pins

since you have long hair the best way is too keep them open and put some really little plates in some of you hair between and then you could even wear a hairband too make it look sassy and remember a black or white one would look just right

Well, in my opinion, your mother sounds like a very religious person. She probably just wants you to follow your religion. And you should respect her ways even if you don't wanna.
And well, as your hair being so long for a guy, i suggest something shorter.
If your the kinda guy that likes strange unusual haircuts, then by all means, go for it! If you typically like more lad-back hair cuts, go for that too. Some suggtions from me would probably be that you should maybe go with a short cut, maybe almost army cut (if thats what you like of course!) If you like it a little longer than that, go with a skater look. Or maybe even a mohawk??? Lol, just kidding.

I could guarantee that if you cut your hair really short, the issue would go away and you would satisfied your mom, no more questions about why don't you let down your hair at school etc. Give it a shot, if you don't like your hair short, you could always grow it back. A lot of gals with short hair are very attractive.

Well Jeni u might consider french braiding ur hair, that way u could still cover it while keeping a cute style, so it's not up and it's not exactly down.

I am really sorry for u
I am not allowed because my hair gets notes in it
Plus i have thick hair and it gets puffy when i keep it out so i just dont but i done it before many times

if u wanna listen to ur mom then you could wear your hair in a cute ponytail or bun. sometimes, you could even wear braids or pigtales. good luck with ur hair, and i would also recommend looking in hair styling books or talk to your hair dresser.

Maybe in a messy bun or tail. or maybe, when you are in school, take of the rubber band, and when you go back to your house, put it back. then you can do what you want, and she wouldn´t know. well, good luck.
