Braces aren't cheap at all. Mine are going to cost me about $3,000 or about $130 a month for 18 months. I have delta dental insurance and they have pretty decent coverage. Sorry to hear about your situation, I hope things get better for you! A discount is when they take an amount of money off of a bill.

well.
i feel your pain.
i have an overbite also.
its not severe.
but i have braces.
I'm 13 now.
and i got them in the end of summer.
luckily my family can afford them.
I'm not sure of the cost per month.
but i know mine cost 5,000 for 2-2 1/2 years of treatment.
i live in California.
but the rates are most-definitely the same.
depending on your age.
&severity.
my best advice is to talk to your parents & convince them how important braces are to your health, and future.
teeth are very important when you are looking for a job.
and while doing other things in life.
then.
get a consultation with an orthodontist, and have your parents describe your financial information.
im sure they can work something out.
my mom is a nurse.
and she fortunatly has great benefits and insurance.
so i think we only paid 2-3,000.
but im not sure.
if you want to contact me further.
you can email me at annie_azara@yahoo.com
or

i also have a myspace, but would rather not give it out here.
so email me&i will give you the url.
thankss.

Braces are VERY expensive, more than a lot of people realize. For me, my braces were $167 per month with a down-payment of about $700. Now, I got ceramic brackets (they're clear and much less noticeable on your teeth), but the metal onces are around $130 per month. Considering that you'll need them on for at least a year and a half (and probably much longer considering the severity of your malalignment), that's at least $3000, and braces typically cost somewhere around $5,000. As far as your parents go, judging by how much it costs and what you put across as your family's financial situation, they're probably not hell-bent on getting them for you because it's, in their mind, a primarily cosmetic concern. While your teeth are, according to what you explained, in a rather poor state, you can live with them like that, and while you're the most important thing to your parents, braces aren't more important than having enough money to live on without being in debt. I don't know about insurance plans and discounts in your area, however, for more affordable braces, try consulting with dental schools in Indianapolis. They will offer care at a much more affordable price than that of orthodontists in private practice, and usually, you're worked on by students being scrupulously observed by those who *are* in private practice (i.e. your teeth are not in danger!).

If you are under 19 yrs of age it will only cost $2,100 dollars for braces. If you are older than 19 it will cost $2,250.00 dollars with the link below. Its not dental insurance its health benefist.
