My absolute favorite is TOLL HOUSE COOKIES, which is in a cookbook I have, but may also be found printed on the back of the NESTLE' Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels Package. The only difference is that I add LOTS of walnuts & I freeze my cookies after baking, since I like eating them that way! (They don't crumble nearly as quickly when dipping them in milk!)

2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
1 measuring teaspoon baking soda
1 measuring teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 measuring teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
one 12-oz pkg (2 cups) NESTLE Semi-Sweet Real Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda & salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar & vanilla extract; beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in NESTLE' Semi-Sweet Real Chocolate Morsels & nuts. Drop by rounded measuring teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F. 8-10 minutes. Makes: One hundred 2" cookies

Toll House Pan Cookie: To make quick Toll House Pan Cookie, spread the original Toll House Cookie dough into a greased 15"x10"x1" baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for just 20 minutes. Cool; cut into thirty-five 2" squares.

Okay here is the easiest one I have found and it makes good cookies. The one on the back on Tollhouse chocolate chips. I use the milk chocolate ones because I hate the taste of semi-sweet. Then I underbake them a little because they still cook a little after you take them out and they are perfect soft and chewy.

Here's the best one on the planet.

Log onto recipelink.com and simply type in "chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies."
I'm drooling right now just thinking about them.

I don't have a specific recipe, but on a blog I often read; the writer recommended that in any recipe calling for butter or shortening, use margarine. She and some of her friends agreed margarine made the awesomest cookies.

So try Cister's recipe and substitute margarine for shortening!

I also like the Nestle Toll House recipe. If that particular recipe isn't exactly what you're looking for, Alton Brown and his crew have worked out three variants of it - one thin & crispy, one light & cakey, and one chewy. You can find them at http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_ea/episode/0,1976,FOOD_9956_17114,00.html
