I have been a MMA fan for about a year but I have no idea what 10% out of the fighters purse does? Can anyone help?

Thanks

So if a fighter is payed 10,000$ to do a fight, and a referee yellow cards his he only makes 9,000$ that fight?

essentially, for each penalty (i.e. illegal strike, not enough action on the mat etc.), a fighter can be deducted 10% of the money he would have gotten for that fight. potentially, a fighter could lose 100% of his fee for the fight!

It is a great way to ensure that Pride fighters are responsible for keeping fights clean and interesting. i think that the UFC should instate a similar rule. It won't ever happen of course (because that would involve the UFC admittign that Pride is doing something that they should have thought of), but it is a good idea.

If a Pride fighter gets yellow carded in a fight for an Illegal strike, he will have 10% of his purse( wages ) deducted from his total fight purse.

I hope that makes sense fella

I read your additional details. You've got it. The idea is to keep the fighters honest and to ounish them for not following the rules.
