well I had braces for 3 and a half years and the first time they get put on you will feel a little pressure from the tightening of your teeth (that's just after of course..you don't even feel them putting them on) but don't worry when they are off you never want to stop smiling and showing off your teeth=) ....good luck

Getting the braces on does not hurt at all! I mean there is pain involved in that part of the process. Although, for about 1 week after your mouth and lips will be getting used to having the braces on your teeth and you will get sores in your mouth. Having braces on does hurt for about one week until your mouth gets used to it but after that-Look forward to a beautiful smile!

As a general rule, braces do not hurt. Usually after an adjustment, your teeth will be sore for a day or two. That annoyance could be relieved with an over-the-counter pain reliever if necessary.

I got braces 3 weeks ago. It doesnt hurt, it just feels weird. Then later on, you will feel the pressure. It will not hurt, but it will be very uncomfortable. Stick with soft foods like ice cream, apple sauce, pudding, mashed potatos, yogurt, etc. Good Luck && Congrats on getting one step closer to a great smile!

Actually no. They put a lot of pressure on your teeth when putting the bands on, and your mouth gets very dry, but there is truly no pain involved, the only pain is afterwards, when your teeth are sore for a few days!

i have had braces twice. they do not hurt at all. they just put a little pressure on your teeth when the put the actual brackets on your teeth. Your mouth will be sore for like 2 days and then you will be fine.
