when u read about a disease or virus, and read the symptoms, you immediately start feeling the symptoms?
like i was just reading an article, and idk, i get nervous, and i feel like i have it, lol i was reading about appendicitis whne i had a very brief pain in my lower right abdomen (scared, i know) and then i just started feeling more pain. lol
is it just my imagination? it happens every time.
lol
and i was just reading about meningitis, and i touched the back of my neck (one of the symptoms) and now its bothering me...
lol....

In psychology they call this projection but in medical terms it's just plain old Hypochondria. And yes it is common.

Try watching an episode of House where they diagnose strange and rare dieseases. It's made me think more than once, "what if I have..."

All the time. Our minds plays tricks on us and we flip out. For me when someone tell me if the have a disease I get that feelin aswell.

I think everybody does that b/c at one time or another you have had a cough or cramp or whatever the symptoms might be.

don't worry about things like that, or else people will think you're a hypochondriac, or an attn. seeker....all it is, is ur mind playing tricks on u, b/c u start to think about something, and then, you start to think u have it, unless it's really bad and persistent, don't worry about it....

omg i hate that! it always happens to me! like if my friend was throwing up the day before i feel like my tomach hurts when she tells me lol

yes it is all physiological and you should have nothing to worry about. if your feeling especially paranoid go see a doctor.
