Alright so my boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years and 3 months. There's this boy in on of my classes that wrote me a note saying I was pretty and whatnot, which infuriated my boyfriend. Now this other boy wants to hang out tonight and I would like to, but I know my boyfriend wouldn't like that at all. I told the note boy that I was already taken. And I really do love my boyfriend a lot, so I wouldn't do anything funny. I just really don't hang out with anyone any more because of my boyfriend's extreme jealousy. So it just seems like a good opportunity to go out and do something for a change. And the note boy seems like a really nice guy so I would like to hang out with him, but just for like a friendly game of bowling or something, not to go over anyones' house or anything like that. I don't know what to do :( Please help.

If you want to be able to hang out with people, and want your boyfriend to not go crazy, it should not be with a boy who said he likes you. You may go out for a friendly time, but the note boy WILL be trying to win you over. No doubt about that in my mind. Even worse, by saying "sure let's go bowling" the note boy will think you want / welcome his advances (maybe you do?).

What it comes down to is this: You have a boyfriend that gets jealous easily. If he finds out that this new guy that wrote you a note and YOU were "hanging out" would he get jealous? If it's yes then don't do it. Does your boyfriend hang out and chill with other people? Why wouldn't it be the same for you? Jealousy isn't in a trusting relationship.

The best answer would be how would you feel if the shoe was on the other foot. What if a girl wrote your boyfriend a note and wanted to hang out with him and he did to go bowling or whatever? Wouldnt it make you feel bad if he would rather hang out and go bowling with someone other than you?

Sounds like its time to dump the b/f. Who needs that jealous energy around them? I mean it is one thing to be upset that someone passed your girl a note, that in itself isn't cool, but to pretty much keep you from hanging out?
At your age you should be out and about and having the time of your life! You are too young for a serious relationship, trust me. That two years is going to seem like the blink of an eye in a few years.
BTW, the note guy wants to ease his way in...don't think he's Mr. Goody Two Shoes.

Here is what you do. only be friends. go out have fun with the note boy. and if your boyfriend gets mad. tell him that it was only a friendly game of what ever you were doing. and if he cant accept that and cant trust you then break it off with him. trust is the main thing to have in a relationship.

tell your boyfriend there need to be change, its either you two broke up or he allow you to go out and have fun, reality is , it doesn't always have to be with him, your time with him should be precious and loveful but you need to be able to hang out also. the thing is if all you want to do with that guy is just go bowling and you know that for a fact to your self that you aint gonna mess up by cheating on him, then you need to let your boyfriend know that.

you should not be hanging out with other guys alone period. in a group of people whatever but alone when you have a boyfriend? thats just asking for trouble even if you think its just a "friendly game of bowling" how do you think your bf or anyone else sees it?

it always start with hanging out, if you care about your boyfriend don't mess up your relationship. if you insist on hanging out with the note guy, bring your boyfriend with you. that's all I can say.

grow up, you either have to remain loyal to your boyfriend or break up with him if you want to go out with other guys.
