I was recently listening to a song by Casting Crowns called "What if His People Prayed?" and it really made me think. I pray, but not enough. And I though, what if every Christian prayed as they were supposed to? Would the world change? Would we see more souls saved for Christ? What things would you see happening if God's people prayed for lost souls or more for their families and churches?

Here is the song:

What if the armies of the Lord
Picked up and dusted off their swords
Vowed to set the captives free
And not let satan have one more

What if the church for heaven's sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took and stand upon God's promise
And stormed hell's rusty gates

What if His people prayed
And those who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

And what would happen if we prayed
For those raised up to lead the way
Then maybe kids in school could pray
And unborn children see light of day
What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the truth
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do

What if His people prayed
And those who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray
If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray

What if His people prayed

Yes we will!!!! I am with you, I pray but not nearly as much as I should and I also don't pray for other outside my circle as much as I should. I am a firm believer and witness of prayer changing lives and situations. One thing I am guilty of is pray a laundry list of needs. I should be able to go to the Lord just to praise Him and glorify His name.

If every Christian went into prayer ceaselessly as the Bible instructs us to the a lot of things would be different. Lives would be so much better and people would not have should a selfish demeanor, which would save marriages and relationships, etc.

Excellent question!!!!

Casting Crowns sings a lot of good songs. I also like "Who am I," a good song about how God loves us even though we don't deserve it. They also sing "If We Are the Body," a song that basically says that if we are the body of Christ, we ought to be doing good to help and save others.
I pray but I should pray more than I do and if more Christians spent serious time in prayer, things would happen. The world would still be evil and reject God, but we might have more believers and better believers if we pray.

I cant answer for the world, but when I became a believer in Christ and started praying my life changed dramatically for the better.

Assuming that I am not special, you'd have to believe it would change the word in a major way if everyone (especially Christians) prayed regualrly.

I believe we would see great changes. Rememer that Daniel prayed continually and later found out that it took the angel that long to remove the enemy's obstacle to get to Daniel's prayer requests!

prayer doesnt change outcomes of anything.

so either the bible is wrong or man have lost faith in god.

the bible says if you have faith the size of a mustard seed (which is extremely small) you can move mountains.
it also says ask and you will recieve, knock and the door opened.

so either its wrong or man have lost faith. which is it...

dont give me this "only if its in gods will" nonsense, that would be putting it in your OWN context, thus ur taking it out of context the very same u get mad at everyone aroudn you for doing, thus making u a hypocrit

Teach a man to pray, he'll pray for a fish.

Give a man a fishing pole, he'll HAVE the fish.

Me, I'm not much into fish.
