I use things freely for years. There is a posting of toxicity of Glade candles to birds.I disagree. Use your own good judgement. If birds are so delicate to pollutants, they would be falling out of trees. Even NY city has parrots flying around free.Mine are fine with diffusers, candles, cleaning fluids and everything else. If you fear Glade candles, then don't use them. Good luck. Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you read.

I wouldn't.

The problem with someone who says their birds do just fine with scented candles and cleaning fluids obviously doesn't understand that birds don't immediately die from pollutants in the air but their lifespans are dramatically decreased. As for parrots that live in a city full of air pollution, I imagine their life expectancy is drastically less than those who live in a home that protects their them from airborne irritants.

I wouldn't risk it. Candles, incense, spray, and even febreeze is lethal to birds. Their little lungs can't take it. They may not show reactions for even as long as a couple of years, but it is not worth it. Here is what I do at my house for a good smell that is bird friendly. In a safe small pot, (not teflon) put a little water , a few cinnamon stix and orange peels, in and let it simmer. Smells great and lasts a long time! You can rehaet the same pot for several days!
