Why does someone choose to become an optometrist ? (except the good salary and flexible hours ! )

If no optometrist profession we would not be able to get bad vision corrected.

If there were no optometrists, we would all go to ophthalmologists (M.D.'s who specialize in eyes).

Another dicipline of medicine would carry the duty... like my profession of physical therapy... why do we do wound care? ick... because no other dicipline of medicine will take it
