any gift that is given you have to accept it, right? If someone offers you money or whatever and you do not reach out and take it then you do not have the money. Even more in salvation. Jesus paid a price that we could never pay to save us from a sin that we could never save ourselves from. It is actually more than just a prayer of acceptance really. It is given up your sin to allow Christ to change you- works cannot save, so you need to accept the gift-

You don't need to say an 'acceptance prayer'. All you have to do is pray to the Lord with sincerity in your heart for salvation. Confess your sins to God and ask the Lord for the Holy Spirit to come into your heart to guide and direct you. You don't need any authorization to pray - just pray to God and He'll help you.

because many christians worship an evil God, to whom infinite punishment, is a reasonable "default" for merely existing.
at least to me, any way you look at it, combining the christian concepts of original sin, and eternal hell, results in the deity at its focus, to be evil.
I agree, why would you need to essentially have an oath/contract? God gives his love freely and openly, to those who are willing to recieve it.

With any gift, you either accept it or you don't. Don't want the gift, then move on.
