I can't help but be attracted to skater/emo/alternative rocker/stunt cyclist/punk/in a band type of guys but I don't fit that image myself. I don't like skateboarding but I do like watching it. I don't dress like they do but I think the way they dress is sexy. I can't imagine facial piercings on myself but on a guy...very hot. Lots of piercings are a no no for me but I have a few. I like simple plan, fall out boy, red jumsuit apparatus, say anything, and music along those lines which is good but I also like pop and hip hop...(though I don't like hip hop looking guys). I guess my question is:

How can I attract those types of guys without conforming to the image and lose who I really am in the process?

Honey, I know exactly what you mean. Those are the guys I like too. I'm a metalhead myself so it's easier for me since I have things in common with them. We run with the same crowds. I know you don't want to "conform" but you always need to have something in common with your love interest in order to get conversations started and keep them going.
To be honest love, Simple Plan and Fallout Boy are frowned upon by people like me and the guys you want. It's emo.
Try listening to harder stuff. Start out slow going from the softer music to the harder stuff.
DragonForce
HIM
The 69 Eyes
The Kidney Thieves
Disturbed
Korn
Pantera
Killswitch Engage
Otep
Children of Bodom
Expanding your taste in music won't make you lose who you are, it adds to your appeal. In my experience, guys like girls who listen to hard rock and metal. It's convenient for me and my friends because it's already the type of music we love.
Music will just help you form a connection and provide things to talk about, it's your personality these guys are interested in. Most metal guys don't care what you have, they want to know that you're a nice girl who isn't crazy and won't call at odd hours just to breathe into the phone.
I don't have my email up for privacy purposes, but I have an open question or two up. If you want more advice leave an answer on it with your email or AIM name.
Good luck!

well ive been skating for like 6 years and ive been riding freestyle moto x for a couple years so i dont know if this is a question based on a guy like me but in my opinion all you have to do is talk to them i mean one of my best relaitonships was with a totally opposite kind of chick and all we did was just met in class one day and started talking i mean otherwise u dont really have a chance by just trying to get their attetion from being in a different scene just gotta talk to the guy someway or another and make a connection with that u know what i mean

um... Mostly.. there is not a way to attract them..

without being part of their scene..

But.. Maybe you should start going on personallity ...

not looks..

and..

Don't EVER change who you are for a guy..

It's just.. stupid

and..

There's a few punk guys out there that like girls who aren't part of the scene..

Maybe you'll find one..

Good luck

Well I don't mean to say that all skaters are jerks, but most of the ones I've encountered are jerks, that is, the ones who embrace that stupid looking fashion.
