I have an engagement ring. Why not? Why does a woman have an engagment ring?
I'm getting married in May and will have the ring changed to have a second ring fix together to create one. This will fit on my wedding finger next to my pinky on my left hand.

Both rings go on the same finger together, the left ring finger. Most men don't receive an engagement ring, unless it's a gay couple. In that case, it would go on his left ring finger, and after marriage both rings go on that same finger. The same way most women would wear them. Some men get remarried and wear the new wedding band on the right ring finger. It's really up to you. In my opinion, an engagement ring on the left hand ring finger, whoever you are, means you're taken.

Actually, there is no rule about which hand to put it on, but it is always on the ring finger. People commonly put it on their left ring finger though. I've seen people wear their engagment rings on their right hand and their wedding bands. I've never heard of a man wearing an engagment ring though.

When you get married the guy puts a band on his left ring finger and the woman keeps the engagement ring on her left ring finger and just adds the band to it. So you leave it on the left ring finger

Men don't usually wear engagement rings. They usually wear a wedding ring on the ring finger of their left hand. Women wear engagement rings and wedding rings on the ring finger of their left hand. Often times, the woman's engagement and wedding rings are a set that fit together.

Some wedding sets at jewelry stores actually have an engagement ring and wedding ring that are made to be nestled together and can eventually be fused together by a jeweler. If you don't have that kind (and I didn't) the bride just wears the wedding band and puts the engagement ring in her jewelry box. Or they could be worn together if they look good together.
