*L* have you ever read their interpretations or so-called 'predictions'? they are so vague. You could pick up any piece of literature and interpret it to also be a prophecy that came true.

The End of Times predictions basically resort around the middle east and fighting, rebuilding, etc, which obviously happens all the time due to the boundaries and political differences. If any big natural diaster happens, they interpret so obscure passage from the bible to have mentioned that.

It really scares me how many people in here put aside rationale and logic and simply say 'no it was predicted by the bible, it's never wrong'....and when you ask 'where' ..they point out a phrase that says 'and the sea will overlap the land and demolish a city'.....OMG New Orleans! I told you!

It's common logic that the sea will obviously flood into land due to natural events and weather, and sooner or later cities with be in the way, it happened for centuries in different parts of the world, it's not a 'predicted prophecy'...but 'common sense of understanding the world around us'

You are begging the question by accusing Christians of doing the mirror image of what you do; i.e., you exercise an a priori rejection of predictive prophecy because it's obviously impossible. Therefore, if Isaiah predicted coming invaders before they were even a nation, and correctly named their leader, then somebody obviously backdated at least part of the book. Liberal Christians, liberal Jews, and atheists hang their hats on a deutero- (and even a third and a fourth) Isaiah, each "predicting" during and after the predicted events. Believers say there was just one, and that he was a prophet who got it right. Do you mind if I keep ignoring your evidence as long as you keep ignoring mine?

They'll claim that Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of the Old Testament, that he was from the line of David and even farther Abraham and even farther Adam. They fail to mention that this lineage is to his step-father Joseph, and not his birth father the Holy Spirit.

They also fail to mention that the Messiah from the Tanakh (Old Testament) that the Jews are still awaiting (see: Zionism) is supposed to be a human (not divine) military leader (not peacemaker).

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Here are eighteen.

A few are how God prophesied to send Israel out of the land into bondage for 70 years and even named the foreign king who would send them back. Jezebels death and being eaten by dogs, Solomons kingdom being split by his sons, and many details of the coming of Jesus -in Bethlehem, going to Egypt, of the line of David, not having a family, suffering, cross, cloths cast lots for, no broken bones and there are really many more.

Have you read the bible? Perhaps your answer is there.

What Christians are you talking about who make this claim? Christians are people and as such may make claims without citing specifics. Help me out on this, and read your bible. Hoping to hear your report soon.

They are really vague. The only proof of many are just the bible itself. They don't really fit either.

There will be a Messiah
Hi, I'm the messiah
Hell, you are.

Well, if you read the NT, you will see that if a person like Jesus lived that the prophecies of the OT were fulfilled hundreds or thousands of years later.

Because their minds have been finely tuned to be able to pick out definitive evidence of the vaguest of predictions. Also, it helps to be blissfully ignorant of the meaning of the word 'proof'
