can you get concessionary travel for older people

The Peter Pan/Greyhound is about $20 for a round trip ticket. I don't know where it lets you off in NYC, but in DC the station is behind Union Station.

There are also a bunch of "Chinatown Express" busses that do the trip for about the same price. Not the fanciest I've been told, but it does get you there and back.

Korea Town and China Town bus to DC is $20 roundtrip. Don't people know about this already?
