I don't want to short circuit anything...I don't want anything to catch fire of course...The only other things on the strip are my fan, clock, and every now and then my cell phone charger....I don't want 2 use my other outlets because they're connected 2 bigger things...Please help...

It's okay, as long as you don't have any electronics connected like a computer, DVD player, TV because the fridge will send an electric hum and create noise on the power line.

With your current devices, it seems rather harmless. Unless it is a real expensive surge protector, you try to not put too many devices on one strip. Never use all the outlets on a power strip.

you should be ok with a surge protector ... they usually have a capacity for a large item ... however if its one of the more inexpensive powerstrips, I'd be a little more careful of what you put on those ... they're just glorified extension cords
