A virus attacked my computer at home, and it will not allow me to use my cd drive... it doesn't read any cd i put in. So i want to format my computer using the restoration cd.. how do i start up my computer, to where i can use my cd drive.. or how can i do this... anyone???

u can do a recovery......but i m afraid if u do that u will lose everything in ur computer.....but the computer will look as new it was before.
but make sure u have the recovery cd or the back up files... and windowes me ....
start ur computer.....and keep pressing, (I think) F10 ...
start once and make sure...what to press
the screen always shows u what to press for recovery,while u start the computer.
do that and just go forward as it instructs u....!!!
telling u again u will lose everything ...but no pain no gain....!!!

If you have a disk drive (not CD), you can boot from there then type in
format c: /u
Now before you do this, why not try to get rid of the virus? It really isn't that hard for someone to do. You may have to take it to a repair shop.

When you boot your PC you should press f2 or maybe f10, watch the screen to get into the system setup. Then try to get to the dos prompt. If you can then type format c: and then enter.
you can also try a search for "Boot & Nuke" to wipe the drive clean, you will have to download the program to a floppy and reboot with the disk in the floppy drive.

you may start your computer with and boot from win 7 cd and do sparkling format and set up from there. elect complete format instead of quick. this provides you with a very sparkling win 7. earlier you try this, ascertain you backup all of your records.

that is the only way to format your computer back cause there is no other way to fromat it without the disk..
