Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will sent him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. ... I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. How be it when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak.. and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. (John 16:7-14)

* The Comforter will come after the departure of Jesus.
* When the Comforter comes, he will reprove the world of sin, truth and justice.
* He will guide the world into all truth.
* The book revealed to him will contain no human word.
* He will foretell things to come.
* He will glorify Jesus and clear him of all charges.

Now when we take this prophecy point by point, it is unmistakably proven that it applies to none else but the Holy Prophet Muhammad. He came after Jesus. The Comforter was supposed to reprove the followers of Jesus. Obviously, he could not be a Christian or a Jew .The prophecy must relate to one who would belong to another people but should respect Jesus and promote reverence for him. The Holy Prophet was neither Jew nor a Christian. He was an Ishmaelite. But he defended the honor of Jesus.

Actually there are two places in the bible which mentions Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him---not by name but by description. These two places are deuteronomy 18:18 and John 14:16. Deuteronomy 18:18 has Prophet Moses who claimed that a prophet will be sent who will be like him and he will speak Allah (God)'s Words, etc. and in John 14:16 Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) says that a helper will be sent after him!

Prophet Muhammad pbuh was much like Prophet Moses pbuh than Prophet Jesus pbuh! And it's obvious that Prophet Moses is talking about Prophet Muhammad pbuh! The words and meaning of bible has changed but it still contains stuff which is orignal! Prophet Jesus pbuh is also talking about Prophet Muhammad pbuh because Prophet Muhammad pbuh was the next Prophet who came and helped/comforted people out of their wrong ways of living and guided them. He is the mercy to mankind and the last of the Prophets!

I hope i answered you well!

The Bible says there are New Testament prophets. However the great Prophet who was like Moses is identified in Acts Chapter 3 as being the Lord Jesus Christ; who was a prophet and much more than a prophet. "In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven." Hebrews 1:1-3

his name not mentioned in English bible .. but his name has been mentioned in the real gospel which was wrriten in hebrew langauge .The english bible has been rewritten so many times therefore a lot of words have been changed and mistranslated .

but still the bible has some truth in it which tells that there will be a prophet who will be like moses ..and if u think of it jesus is no way like moses and this is because they were both have different personalities and different plan in the way they have preached so dont think that prophet jesus is like moses , but there is a big similarity between prophet muhammed and moses . they both had a message to deliever and they both had large believers who fought against the unbelievers whereas Jesus is totally different ,

I've read the Bible more than once, and I've never read where it mentions Muhammed. I've also never heard any teachings from the Bible about Muhammed. So I really don't think he is mentioned in the Bible. I don't know what the Vehdas is....so I can't comment on that.

Neither Mohamed nor Jesus are mentioned in the OT, and there is only the assumption of Mohamed being the "second Paraclete" mentioned in the NT.

No Semitic prophet or "godling" is mentioned in the Vedas.

He was included in the false prophet warning, but not directly by name. Other than that, no mention of this unholy man.

May God Bless you.

Why do Muslims use a book they generally reject to prove that the coming of Mohammad was "foretold?"

Many times, Muslims use the same versus Christianity has always used as prophecy for Jesus to prove Mohammad and so forth. But, I bet you already knew that. It is very convenient.
