It's actually harder for me to drive an automatic than a stick, but I never realized it was so much harder for anyone to drive a stick. I learned to drive on farm equipment in the 60's, and I don't think they made them with automatics back then. As a matter of fact you had to pay extra to get a car with an automatic transmission then, so most people just took the car with the stick and didn't think about it.

If you passed your test in a manual car then you are entitled to drive either, it only makes a difference if you took you test in an automatic.
