I suggest having your hair professionally done if you are a blonde and you want the color to stay looking bright and even in your hair. A professional will even tell you though that it's alot of upkeep. You need to come in every 4-6 weeks to touch up your roots as you can't stop your hair from growing. Generally if the color is fading out it's because you are not using a good coloring product or the right shampoo/conditioner to keep the pigment in. If you don't want to spend a ton of money on the shampooing products I recommend John Frieda for keeping the color in. That brand has products for blondes, brunettes and redheads. I use it for my own hair and mine's burgandy. Red pigments fade much faster than blonde.
Usually with blonde you have to worry about it turning brassy and looking orange.
If you don't want to worry about your hair turning dull or brassy I suggest doing highlighting rather than overall coloring. You can have streaks done to frame your face and give you an overall lighter result without being so drastic. It's much better for the health of your hair as well.
I've been blonde so I know all of the horror stories. I've had it turn orange, suffer from fading, roots, uneven tone and even had coloring cause some of my hair to fall out....
Leave it to the pros and check out the salon you use because if you get the wrong place they can mess it up pretty good. Always ask for a master stylist because they have the most experience with the colors and with hair cutting. They cost a bit more but they're worth it!
Good luck!

dove makes a shampoo conditioner for light haired people, and I am a blonde it makes my hair so nice. Don't buy john frieda, it's too expensive and doesn't work. Plus, I dye my hair to make it a lighter blonde, I tried every hair dye and I got my hair done professionally. Nothing worked, and then I bought revlon, I was low on cash and it was only 2.97 at walmart. I bought it and it works like a charm. it catches my hair so well. Plus since you are a blonde you need to keep the hair dye on longer like for 45 mins

You can try getting it highlighted or use blonde by John Frieda , it's ashampooo and conditioner. I wouldnt use sun in that might turn it a weird colr, it didn for my sister anyway! Good luck......
Oh yeah f you are in a warm climate you can spray lemon juice in your hair and just relax and lay out. It's healthier than sun in and not as harsh!

If you are in the sun a lot the blond hair will stay in for awhile. Then all you have to worry about is the darker roots.

A few face framing highlights with bleach. It's not enough to case damage to your hair as a whole.
