And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

25Behold, I have told you before.

26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The end is getting closer every day. But no one knows when its going to happen. Just trust in God and you will be fine. Do not be afraid of the "end" Jesus will come again to save us.

Matt. 24 was addressed to the Jews. Why would Jesus talk to a Jewish audience about the Church (which didn't exist then) and Gentile believers (who were not yet part of the church). I understand that sometimes people stumble on the word "elect" (Matt. 24:31), but that is referring to all Israel, the remnant who will be saved through the tribulation. The Bible uses the term "elect" for Israel throughout the Old Testament: 1Ch 16:13 O seed of Israel, His servant; O sons of Jacob, His elect. Psa 89:3 I have cut a covenant with My elect; I have sworn to David My servant, Psa 105:6 O seed of His servant Abraham; O sons of Jacob, His elect. The term “falling away” in the Greek is “Apostasia” , a noun. Our English word apostasy is a transliteration of apostasia. The verb from which this substantive is derived is “aphistemi”, a combination of “apo” which means “from” and “histemi” which means “to place, or stand”. The Greek term means simply “to stand or be placed away”. What stands or is placed away and what it is placed away from is determined by the context. The equivalent English verb is “depart” and the noun equivalent of “Apostasia” is “departure”. Who is departing and what they are departing from is determined by the context. You also have a problem with Rev. 19, which is the marriage supper of the lamb. The whole Church would have to present for this to occur, this happens before the second coming. You would also have a problem with this verse: Rev 13:15 And was given to it to give a spirit to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak, and might cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. This is during the trib.. Either those on earth (except for the preserved remnant of Israel) will take the mark or die, there is no other option offered. So, even if the church were here until this point, they would either take the mark and be cursed, or die. You also need to ask yourself, what is the God's purpose in the final days? Judgment for sin on the earth. Did not Jesus, in His body, pay for the sins of His people? Yes Then, why would the Church, which is the body of Christ, suffer judgment for sins already forgiven? They won't, because we will not be here. The pre-trib rapture is fully supported by Scripture and was the main belief of the early Church and Church fathers.

I can't say when the time will be of Christ's coming .no one knows when that time is, but we all do need to be ready and watchful.does anyone of us knows without a doubt that we will be alive tomorrow? studying history we see famine droughts, deadly diseases.Wars and Wars almost started.nations have gathered together to fight against injustices .in my time i have see three wars or rather police action, two wars . I guess we just all must live like today is the last day of earth, and be good to each other, love and trust in the lord.

Matthew is writing about the destruction of the Temple after it happened. At that time the early Church expected Jesus to come back in their life time. When this did not happen, they then took the writings to mean the parousia, the coming of Jesus at the end of times to judge the living and the dead. There are some theologians who believe the parousia is the world coming to God and not Christ to the world.

I believe the last days refer to the fact that the work of the cross was finished and now man has been made right with God. (Saved men and women). So last days, we're in the sense that redeption is finished. The last days began after the cross. They may last 2,000 to 10,000 years or more but it's finished. It's the final period of time before His second coming. You had the first days, middle days, and now the last days. Make sense?

Yes, I think it is the beginning to the end. God says "the end will come like a thief in the night" We must all be spiritually prepared as if it was going to happen today, because it might! God Bless

Yes. Someone wiser than I said this portion of Scripture is like the spine in the body. If you want to know how to relate the other parts of the body, you start with the spine. So if you want to know how to relate other end time prophecies to the rest of prophecy; start here, with the spine.
Verse 14 is the one part we can do something about.
Maranatha!

i think that he is talking more about the Great Tribulation, which happens after the rapture, when JESUS comes for his Christians. The part about wars and rumors of wars could mean now though, but the rest is the Tribulation.

No. You forget that he also mentioned to his desciples that "there shall be some among you who shall not taste of death ere the Kingdom of Heaven arrives." Well, not only is their generation long dead, but so is the entire civilization!

Someone's a tad bit late...
