Just curious. For example, I'm an atheist but still consider myself a scion of Fenrir Wolf (Norse) and a bastard of Sekhmet (Egyptian), and do rituals in their name & honor, even though I do not believe in their literal existence.

Goodly: Pixies are not a symbol that have personal relavance to me. Fenrir and all the other Wolf-deities (Grandfather Wolf, Hati & Skoll, Geri & Freki, the general Werewolf legend, etc...) along with Sekhmet (Okay, she's a lioness, but she's also the patron of freaking genocide, having invented it according to the legends of her)

oops, brainfart, lost the train of thought up there. Anyways, those various deities I mentioned -- whiel I don't believe them to be real, the SYMBOL of them, the legends surrounding them, are deeply and personally relevant to me.

For example, I've had an NDE and multiple OBE's... and in all of them I have found myself in a dimly lit cave sitting with Fenrir Wolf, and every time the revelations I have received were deeply personal and impacted my life in ways there are no words for.

I'll never forget the one where Fenrir looked up into my eyes and as a show of respect, being an omega, I lowered my eyes so as not to look the Alpha in the eyes. He lifted my chin, made me look into his eyes, and said, "No. I am your truth. Do not look away."

I cry every time I remember that -- just as I'm doing now because I'm telling the story... *chuckles & cries simultaneously*

the ideas behind them , the rituals , the lives people led then , the community spirit they had ... it all appeals to him

Sure. Im an atheist. But, I ask Lord Shiva to take care of my "garden" and I ask the motorcycle Gods to keep me safe daily as well...
I was just having this conversation with my friends last night. Everyone places some kind of life or power to everything inanimate... How many of us scream at our vehicles when we bust a knuckle working on it - like its the car's fault...

I think I just like to say 'Gwyn ap Nudd'
Oh and 'God Damn' too, but don't think either are deities.

Just to get this straight though, you are an offshoot of Canis lupus aesiri or descendant of Loki?

I suppose we do by having my kids call my mother 'Nana'
(Baldur's wife)

Well, if you want to call it stealing, Loki took Baldur, so it would be like family tradition.

I pay homage to Bertrand Russell, by reading him instead of Richard Dawkins.
