If they suspected you were drunk they would not allow you to drive, but in any other circumstance I'd say do not buy from that garage. They clearly have not done things by the book, they have no liability cover for you so couldn't cover you for insurance. This means they are not completly above board. A garage should be keen for you to drive a car, get the feel for it and want it more.

it could be that the salesman doesn't trust women drivers. Dealers are insured for potential customers to drive their vehicles and you should always test drive the car yourself. give this one a wide berth and find another dealer cos either the sales rep is cr*p or they are trying to cover something up.

I wouldn't say it was a bad sign. Every time I've gone to a garage and been given a test drive it's always been the salesman who drove. You can't blame them really. The car could be worth thousands and they can't trust any Tom, Dick or Harry off the street to just jump in and test drive it.

first, find the vehicle of your choice , then go to a reputable dealer who will welcome you with an incredible greeting and put you behind the wheel for a test drive without having to ask. If this doesn't happen in the first four minutes after your selection, turn on your heels and head away to a dealer who will accomodate all your needs.

there can be many reasons why, don't just assume there a bad dealer. if you still like the car go back and ask to drive it, if they say no than ask why not.but don't ever buy a car without you or someone you trust driving it.

Because he was an A** and didn't take you seriously. Go to another dealer and always insist on a test drive.

I wouldn't buy a car from that company. You really need to drive the car during a test drive
