Hmm. Sounds like to me as if you are implying the faint possibility that God Himself doesn't care enough about us to take the stand on His own. That's very interesting to think that, because I have never heard of anyone saying they would prefer it if they were not forgiven-of anything-by anyone, for that matter. It seems that what your real question is, is what is forgiveness? That my friend, is something that will have to be lived to be learned. You may want to think of some personal life situations where it was either important for you to forgive, or to be forgiven. Remember how that felt? Maybe that will help you to understand that question, or even the reason why you asked it.

Hebrews 9:22 says without shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. There had to be a sacrifice, bulls and goats were often used in the OT but they were not good enough. Only the spotless lamb, i.e., Jesus, could take away the sins of man. If you have a lot of questions check out Ravi Zacharias, Norman Geisler or some of the other apologists. Or read the book, "The Case for Christ." Hope this helps. God bless!

Islam teaches that God does forgive our sins. Being forgiving and able to forgive is part of His nature. He made us, He knows our weaknesses, He is perfectly capable of forgiving without any form of vicarious atonment, which is a pagan concept - even in the form of another part of the triune godhead's blood (also a pagan concept).

God sent Jesus (upon him be peace) as a messenger and a prophet, just like all the other prophets before him and Prophet Mohammad after him (upon him be peace). But none of the prophets bears the sins of his followers, nor can any person absolve another on behalf of God. But thank God, each individual can receive forgiveness simply by repenting and asking for it.

Okay, understand that I am now Wiccan and I understand your question, but you asked a bible question, and since I am a former Christian preacher with bible knowedge, I will answer from a bible perspective.

According to the bible we are so sinful that a perfect God cannot forgive us without us first being washed with blood. That is why the Old Testement times Preists killed bulls and goats and birds for our sacrifice so we can obtain forgiveness, but that was only good for one year and each year we had to do it all over again.

Jesus left heaven to be born of a virgin and lived a perfect sinless life so he could be the perfect sacrifice and his blood can wash our sins away once and for all. He gave his life willingly so that we can have forgiveness. That is the bible view.

I don't expect you to understand it because believers do not even understand it and if they do they are lieing. They just accept by faith, for it is by faith that we beleive and are justified.

Jesus served as proof that a human could faithfully serve God in perfection even unto death. Satan's whole argument is that man wouldn't serve God out of love but out of selfishness and otherwise fear. Read Job goes into that a bit more... So Jesus dying was symbolical in the sense of the old testament followers of God had to continually sacrifice animals for atonement, Jesus being the perfect sacrifice put an end to that. Thus him dying was both literal in the act of sacrifice and symbolic in showing mankind an ultimate path for redemption.

Because the holiness of God demands payment for sin. Kind of like the way we demand punishment of criminal behavior in our world. There has to be payment, because sin is transgression against Him. He used his Son to take our place. He wanted to forgive man (and woman) so it became a no brainer. Since Jesus had no sin, his sacrifice could then be used as payment in our place. God doesn't just FORGIVE sins. There has to be payment. That's where Jesus comes in.

Let me explain it this way, when you grab hold of a plug and pull it from the power the object you unpluged dies, when Adam and Eve sinned the "natural laws" state its [they] die, the second member of The Godhead choose to take YOUR PLACE so you can have His. His mercy said spare them however He is also The God of Justice someone must bear the natural effects of death, so Jesus Christ send Himself and well as the Father to do just that, John 3:16 and 14:15. Basically the Holy Spirit,God and Jesus make up the trinity.they are one so God sending Jesus was like sending or coming himself and by the way he sent Jesus to the world because nobody would believe it was him if he came in the spirit form so he sent Jesus to come in the physical.

God is Jesus sent down to earth. He sent him so that people would listen and know that God loves them enough to send his son to die for us. He felt the pain that we don't have to feel. God can do what ever he wants, He's God! If he wanted to do it that way he can. He love you and me so he took the pain of sin away. What is there not to get?
