My dog is the epitome of annoying. I can never get her to stop barking and she bites at people's feet. She doesn't know when to stop and I'm starting to hate her. I don't have any money for lessons and I'm lost...What should I do?

Mental and physical stimulation. Your dog is bored and has more energy than things to do. In addition to walking your dog or playing frisbee with your dog, you need to begin training your dog so that it knows what to do. Your dog will be so much less obnoxious if it is using its brain and muscles productively. Plus instead of telling your dog to stop what is doing, you can more effectively stop the behavior by telling it what to do and thus ending the current behavior. Example: dog nips at feet, dog told to sit, dog can't nip feet when sitting.

Your local library should have some books on training if you can't afford formal classes. Be sure to use positive reinforcement- like great treats- so that your dog likes to obey and knows there is something in it for him/her.

Hope that helps a bit.

Try to drain some of her energy with approved-of play. Long walks are great for this, even a treadmill if you can get some tips on safety. If she's a herding dog (they often nip at feet) then give her something to herd, like a bunch of bouncy toys thrown around, and she gets treats as she gathers them up.

Don't yell at her when she's barking. More noise won't help. There are collars that help with barking, but you should do some research into how to use them properly. Try to stay calm yourself, rather than getting angry. I know, it's tough, but you don't want to discipline your dog angrily, just calmly.

You need to reestablish the heirarchy in your house. Your dog doesn't know who the boss is (you, right?)

Put the dog on a leash in the house. Spend some time walking him around the house. Use a choke collar if you have to, depending on his size. If he does something wrong, a quick gentle tug will get his attention. Tell him NO at the same time, so he knows what NO means (something bad).

If he does something good, then give praise and treats.

Does he have issues--toys and play bones-- he can legitimately chew and play with? Do you walk him on a daily basis? He ought to have a brisk 15-30 minute walk each morning and night to take that loopy area off and then direct his interest to his toys each time he bites issues you do no longer want him to. compliment him while he performs together with his toys quite of yelling at him while he would not. proceed to be calm and don't supply him any interest while he tries to play with you and you do no longer want to play, and tell him "NO" in an exceedingly deep, employer, and loud, yet calm!, voice while he nips at you. in case you recognize the different small canines he ought to play with to get some greater skill out, that must be magnificent for the two certainly one of them, in all danger. canines love fiddling with different canines, and it may be sturdy for his socialization which you ought to be doing approximately this time besides. he's in basic terms a puppy, and doubtless teething, so he gets greater beneficial on the wildness and chewing finally... in basic terms supply him toys and walks and stay calm and he will do superb!

You need to help burn some of her energy. Is she a young dog? She should eventually grow out of it and calm down. For now help her to burn up some of her energy by playing with her. make sure that she knows that biting at your feet is bad.

100% know the anser to this:

Everytime you enter a room for the first time dont make eye contact with your dog. dont touch your dog and dont speak to your dog for twenty minutes. Eventually your dog will learn that it has to be calm before you pay attention to it. After twenty minutes shower it with affection. Keep consistant with this and your dogs behaviour will settle.

Well if you have about $50, you can by a dog whisperer DVD or just a regular dog training DVD. If you have the channel National Geographic, you can watch The Dog Whisperer. It is a training show. I trained my dog off that show, DVD, and also the book. You can also look on Yahoo! Pets. Whisch is the link below.

LONG walks. Twice a day.

If you have a place where you can allow your dog to run free in an enclosed area take it there DAILY.

A tired dog is a good dog.
