Something that I've heard people doing to keep their pets off the couch while they are out of the house (which is probably when they are peeing?), is to put a couple of floor mat's upside down on the couch area. Use a mat that has the pointy tacks all over the bottom (the ones that keep it snug on the carpet). The cat shouldn't want to even jump on it! Good luck =)

Clean the spot with Simple Solution (can be purchased at PetsMart) and Oxyclean. Remember - you're dealing with the odor plus the habit. Let the solution clean & keep the cat away from that sofa for a week or so. That should take care of the habit she's developed as well as the odor. Regarding the cleaning, you may have to repeat.

i know it sounds crazy, but have you tried putting a noisy cover on the couch like reynolds wrap or saran wrap in th eplace that the cat is going? You could even buy a plastic slipcover like you see in elderly people's houses. Cats don't like noise like that. Also if you see them in the act, rattle a soda can with coins in it or even spray them with a water gun. I know it may sound crazy or even a little harsh, but that should do the trick. Good luck!
You may also want to call your vet if it continues. There may be a more serious issue that needs to be looked at.

if you go to a pet store they have a spray called apple bitter or something like that it stinks to the cat but you can't actually smell it and they stay away from it. If it is a male cat he may be spraying and not peeing so you might want to get it spayed or neutered. that should help

They sell products you can spray in special areas f your house where cats tend to think its the little box and 9 time out of ten it will stop them from going in that area.
We have the same problem with out can peeing on the bathroom carpet.
Its annoying, i know.
