I work 3rd shift and I work every other weekend. I work with the same person on my weekends to work. Well last night he asked me if I wanted to go out tonight b4 work. I probably should have been flattered, but it totally freaked me out and I am totally uncomfortable around him now. Our shifts are 10 hours and its just me and him and Im dreading work now! I told him no that I had something I had to do, and Im hoping he got the hint. Im really worried hes gonna try again! Is this something I should let bother me? Or should I just let it go? I dont want anything to do with him outside of work.

No, I wasnt flattered. I was saying I probably should have been, but I was freaked out having to work with him 3 nights straight, a 10 hour shift.

Like the first guy said, I know it's hard and you don't want to be so rude, but you might just have to flat out say "no". Sugarcoat it a little though, because you do have to see him at work and you don't want him to hate you. Tell him that you like being his friend, and you don't think it would feel right if you were more than that. Try to keep dropping friend-like hints. Tell him things like the cute guy you saw in the elevator, or how it's almost that time of the month, or how you need some more tampons soon. Things you would share more with your girlfriends than your boyfriend. That might let him know that he's in the "friend" position and not so much the "dating" position.

I wouldn't be freaked out, just go to work like nothing happened. If he asks again, tell him how u feel. but i definitely wouldn't worry at all, and if he says anything be honest. Just be nice about it lol, tell him u have a love in indiana : P

By telling him you had something to do was telling him a lie. You should be above lying. If you don't want anything to do with him outside of work then kindly tell him so. You shouldn't have to lie about it. There's no reason you can't be friends at work.

Tell him just what you said here---that you dont want anything to do with hime outside of work---Or the old stand by--"I dont date people I work with" That usually goes well. Hope this helps!!
