I was currently "taken off" an animal neglect and abuse case. now im only 15 but these animals are like my family. The lady that owns them is starving a dog and a horse with 3 other horse and 4 other dogs get really good care. The dog is a german shepard st. bernard mix and hes a lover boy... but i think he oly weaighs about 65 pounds... thats way to little for a big dog... my mum and i have been working on the case... and she doesnt get along with the Animal shelter manager in our county... we are going to report the lady and i wanted to keep tabs on the dog and horse to know what happens but my mumn wont let me have anything to do with it now... is this fair to me??? i love these animals and i ant to know what happens to them.... help!

I know a lot of things are unfair at your age. But I think your Mom is trying to protect you from the cruelty of the situation. Try sitting down with your Mom and talking about this. Tell Her your feelings and that you are old enough to handle this. When she sees the maturity in you maybe she will at least let you know how the animals are doing. But whatever her decision: you will be on the road to being an adult.I'm so happy to know that a young person as yourself cares so much for the animals..The world needs more like you...Good Luck!!

If your mum has told you to stay out of the situation, then you need to heed her command. She may know about something connected to the case that you don't, and may want to protect you from litigation (or other retaliation) by the dog owner. You're 15, and although your heart is in the right place, you shouldn't be taking on "adult" issues like this.
If you want to make a real impact on the state of things, stay in school and take classes in police science and animal care... Then when you're old enough, become an Animal Control officer yourself. You may not be able to save the one dog today, but you'll be able to save hundreds in the future.

I'm very sorry to hear this! I know that you love those animals, and I hope that justice is served!
Since your Mom told you to stay out of it, you should. She is the authority over you.
But think about what you CAN do! Buy them food, treats, toys, and ask your neighbor if you can take them for walks. See if your neighbor will let you spend time with her dogs. Most people will.

Unfortunately you are 15 and under your mother's authority. Fortunately you have a huge heart and are doing all you can do to make sure these animals get the care they need and deserve. Good for you! you should be proud of yourself. On the other hand my advice is to listen to your mom. She knows best

Maybe your mom realizes that you were getting too attached to these animals. She may be approaching it in a more subjective manner, and didn't want you to get upset or suffer if these animals were to get worse. Trust your mom! I'm sure she's thinking of what's best for you and the animals.

I understand how you feel but report the lady and leave it to the proper authorities to deal with. You could have problems if you take matters into you own hands. I know you love the animals but trust me, you don't love them nearly as much as your mum loves you so please, accept her decision with this.
