What are the advantages and disadvantages of dirt floors?

Advantages: Stains are not an issue.
Disadvantages: Almost everything
Little critters can dig their way in
Bugs believe it is THEIR turf
You get dirty feet when you step out of the tub
Sweeping the floor can cause a dust storm
The 5 second rule no longer applies
Your indoor pets will think the whole house is a litter box

The biggest advantage is the thickness. You will never wear through a dirt floor. One major disadvantage is when you drop your peanut butter and jelly toast. You never get all the grit out.
I prefer the Brazilian Rain Forrest dirt myself.
