In response to Baritone's failed attempt to get a good answer to this... :)
Just answer the question, folks. Don't insult me for being an atheist, or dodge the question. Just give me an answer.
Why doesn't God heal amputees? According to you, he miraculously cures cancer, liver disease, and other illnesses that were supposedly incurable or terminal. These are called miracles by Christian folks.
Now I'd like for any of you to either show me a single amputee that has ever regrown a limb, via a miracle. Since you won't find one, my question is... why not? If god works miracles, then why will he not cure amputees, but will cure diabetes, alzheimer's... you name it... anything that is not verifiably a miracle...
Even though plenty of amputees pray, and deserve to have their limbs grow back... why don't they? Does god have something against amputees? Or does he, in fact... not exist?

God has healed amputees. St. Anthony of Padua is the patron saint of amputees.
It isn't about being deserving, it is about having faith that it can be done.
The Catholic church has St. John Chrysostom's hand, which miraculously regrew after it was cut off (because he was a Christian). It's about 1700 years old now. But still intact. The rest of his body (except maybe his tongue) decayed, but not the hand.
Of course, a real atheist will just say, no it didn't...
Why so many down votes? I anwered the question! It is because I am Catholic, and not Protestant (down votes) or Atheist (down votes). That's what I get I suppose...

God doesn't heal amputees because that would be proof that he exists, and the world just can't have that. All other miracle healings can have biological or psychological reasons. EDIT NOTE: @ Creation Detective. Do you mean that in all of recorded history it has never been his will to regenerate a limb? Not once. And that makes sense to you??

Not surprisingly, there's not a single person who believes that there's a god who magically cures people of things who could give a reasonable answer to your question. Here's the correct answer:
God doesn't heal amputees for the same reasons that God doesn't heal anyone else. There is no God, and no miraculous healings.
These things are easy to answer if you're willing to accept the truth. If you're not, then you're stuck pretending not to notice this kind of giant hole in your belief system.
And no, God didn't heal the arm of St. John the somebody-or-other. Show us some real evidence, not just a 1700 year old fairy tale. You know better than this.

This is a redundant idiotic question. This is like the fourth question I have read today considering God and amputees. What is it with amputees? First of all, if God could "cure" an amputee would that make you believe in him? Probably not. He doesn’t have to prove himself to you or anyone else. would you prove yourself to a bunch of condescending cynics of what you can do? i doubt that you would. why should they even matter? And I have seen plenty of his miracles. To bad that you haven’t. So many of you feel it is appropriate to test God and that isn’t how he works. Can god make the sky green? Can he stop cars in motion from crashing? Can he make people fly? If god cured everyone, stopped diseases, and violence we would all be in heaven and what would be the reason for prayer or worship. Second, humans lack the biological makeup to regenerate a limb. Now that is just speaking from a scientifical standpoint just as you all like to do capn. It’s all science, remember? I am surprised that a man of your intellect and caliber that relies so much on science to prove fact would ask such a frivolous question such as this. geesh, its questions like these that make me question why you don’t feel God in your life. another thing, you dont believe in God so why should it matter what he can do? I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't care at the powers that Superman possess right? or do you?
p.s. There is a piece of technology called a prosthetic. Have you heard of that capn? nah i didnt think so.

as i previously said...every move we make strikes back...that is karma.if you do bad things, bad things happen to you! an amputee is a person who sinned very much in this or in the previous lifes.the higher the sin...the higher is the "punishment"(a.k.a. karma) !! you won't find an amputee healed because he doesn't deserve that...my mother healed her deep cancer but not with chemotherapy!!! her mistakes were not so bad...she only lost a part of one breast...that part will never grow back, but she understood the punishment, she remembered her mistake and asked for forgiveness!the result was the healing (doctors told me that she won't spend this Holidays with me).....

Because God, strangely enough, is very shy about contradicting reality and regenerating limbs in this day and age. Miracles abounded in the days of the Bible. Water to wine, the blind are granted immediate perfect site, disease waved away, a lovely fish lunch for thousands of folks is conjured out of thin air.
But now... now that we can record the event, verify authenticity, scientifically scrutinize the event, etc etc.... God is very very very short on snapping his divine fingers and causing the impossible to occur.
Now... Christians will say "what does it matter? Good, God-fearing Christian amputees will have everlasting life with Christ in heaven. It doesn't matter if they're limbless in this life". Sorry guys, but that's not the point. It's not JUST about amputees. They are but one example. The POINT is that amazing, unbelievable, unreal miracles LIKE the regeneration of limbs just don't happen.
Again... God seems shy now that we are skeptical, critical, analytical and much much smarter.

I don't understand why people get so offended by this question. Christians are the ones who claim that God performs "miracles". It's a perfectly valid question, given the information they always give us about God.

jesus tells us to cut off our limbs if they make us sin. maybe amputees sinned and god cut off their limbs???? what a wicked god he is... and any christian who enforces their beliefs on others should be amputees themselves... jesus commanded it!
Matthew 18:8-9 (Mark 9:43-47)
"And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life maimed or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire. "
EDIT:
unless this is one of those figurative passages... how can you christians tell the difference between them???

Let's just ask... Why doesn't God heal amputees?
There is no reason for HIM to do so!
Salvation has nothing to do with the number of Limbs one has.
