Because it says so! And who the heck wants to argue with Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John?
Also, those supposedly 'unfulfilled' prophecies just haven't happened YET. The other day I prophesied that I would have lunch today. And I HAD lunch today. Through my interpretation of the Bible and the help of a Christian God, I have prophesied a heat wave in the Sahara, wetness along the Nile, and snow on Mt. Everest. And I am but lowly (wo)man! Can you imagine what strong, primal man can do? Isn't that enough for you people?

I have never seen the Bible proven wrong or a part in it which was wrong.
Here's some [facts] about the Bible.
The Bible was written over a 1500 year span.
The Bible was written by over 40 authors.
The Bible was written on 3 continents.
The Bible was written in 3 different languages.
The Bible doesn't once contradict itself. (If you think it does it's because you wanted it too.)
The Bible keeps the same religion. Religion is beliefs. So that means God, truths, and story.
Billions of Bible's have been sold making it the world's best seller.
God most likely wrote the Bible through men so humans could keep their "free will". You have to choice whether or not to believe. If God gave us it we'd all know without a doubt. True you'd still have your free will, but God wants us to love Him without reasons. That's true love, unconditional love. Everyone on earth has sinned excpet Jesus, who is God. So there are no sinless women. And why women didn't write any books can't be said because not all the authors are accounted for.

Well, seriously, G-d used spiritual men to use their hands to do the physical writing of the scriptures. The scriptures teach that they are "theopneustra) (G-d breathed). The scriptures also teach that all of mankind is sinful. The disciples were also sinners, as was Paul (he said so himself) who declared that He was the chief of sinners. Paul wrote the greatest majority of the New Testament (Romans to Hebrews).
There is a book by Josh McDowell called "Evidences That Demand A Verdict" which spells out many reasons why what we have as G-d's word is divinely inspired. Just one aspect is that we have more accurate manuscripts for the scriptures then for any other published work (including Shakespeare's). I have placed a link regarding the work of an individual by the name of Ivan Panin who scientifically proved the inspiration of the scriptures, and because of his work declared that their was a golden thread which ran through the entire bible. He was a mathematician and linguist, speaking 7 languages including Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic, and because of that he saw certain features when he read the original manuscripts from which the King James bible was translated.

I believe it because I was born again - totally transformed in nature, in a moment, by the word of God spoken directly into my heart saying "Maybe Jesus really did die for your sins" My life has taken a totally different course since then. I stopped lying, stopped stealing, stopped using people, stopped hating, stopped cursing and blaspheming. I could go on with many details, but the point is I underwent a tremendous internal change that I never even knew was possible. My religion, Catholicism, never taught such things - or at least so far as I was aware. It was a year later when I started reading the Gospel of John that I realized the Bible spoke about my very experience in John Chapter 3. I knew what Jesus was speaking about in that chapter was exactly what happened to me. I have since come to realize in a thousand different ways that when I accept the testimony of Scripture and act on it, the blessing of God never fails to come into my life. How many people do you know today that are free from all fear, all anxiety about the future, free from drugs, alcohol, cigarets, food or sex addictions, mental problems, pain, illness, debts, greed, selfishness and are living in continuous peace and contentment? All these things I have today through faith in God and obedience to the Scriptures. I believe in the Bible because I have seen that it works !

The human writers were creative. All creative activity is divine. It is not to be taken as a literal truth but the basic principles are valuable. The only story that is even remotely possible is the story of Jesus in the gospel of Mark. We can assume that he might be who he said he was. We can't know for sure though until the time comes.

Peace!
If you read the Bible on a spiritual level you will be convinced that the Bible is the word of God in the words of men.
I can prove to you that the Bible can change your life. Apply the teaching of Jesus on forgiveness. Forgive everyone, especially those who have really hurt you. I mean really forgive them. Forgive also yourself. I guarantee you the Bible will change your life.

Its circular logic. They're sure its true because the bible says its true. Which is a complete paradox.
