My husband had a brain tumor that caused him to have epilepsy. he had it removed in 2000 but he still gets Auras which are a form of seizure. They have been getting more frequent over the past few months and I am beginning to worry. We are going through some stressful stuff and he says that is what causes them and I shouldn't worry. Should I make him go see a Dr. or trust him to know what is best?

I am an epileptic...I have been for forty years now...and my advice to you...is put your husband in the car...and drive him to the doctor yourself. I would not let him drive if he is getting auras! This could be very dangerous. Your husband needs to understand the seriousness of this...and since you do...for his own good and others...you need to take him to the doctor ASAP!!! What is so unbelieveable to me...is that you all waited months! My mother noticed me rolling my eyes into my head...and got me to the doctor right away...and found out I was epileptic!!! Please don't read anymore Yahoo answer...and get him there!!!

My best friend has epilepsy, and his wife has no complaints. If your marriage is stressful, perhaps you should seek counseling to ameliorate any stress you can. Nobody is sure what the triggers of auras are, and while medication can help with seizures, there is no known cure. If he's willing to see a doctor and take medications, do it. Anything that might help is worth pursuing initially until you rule out efficacy.

The key word for men and their health is Denial, Denial, Denial! Actually both sexes do it but especially men.
He should get it checked!!! Have him follow up with his MD to ensure the tumor was completely removed and that there is no recurrence. Put both your minds at ease and get it checked.

Make sure he sees a specialist in this area. There may be some medication that will help with the seizures.
