my husband used to be a piercer...and as far as ppl sayin that its unhealthy and you shouldnt do it. they are wrong...
piercing thru scar tissue is ok, yet it is more painful because the tissue isnt as soft as healthy tissue...its just a bit more tough to pierce through, not impossible nor forbidden.
if you want to reduce the scar tissue...shower first, and then try breakin up aspirin pills into dust...and then add a little bit of water to make a paste substance...then rub the paste on the area that has scar tissue and keep doing that until it eventually gets smaller and smaller...you should try this probably at night before you go to bed so it sits in over night.
If you are allergic to aspirin, you can try Tea Tree Oil that can be found at The Body Shop (its like bath and body works only more organic and natural) if there isnt a body shop near you you can go online and order one...its only like $6 and its well worth it. (I used to work there). all you would do is get a q-tip and put some tea tree oil on the q-tip and rub it on the area with scar tissue and there ur done...keep doing this until you notice the scar tissue go down.
you can also try cocoa butter on it...just apply it to the scar tissue and rub it in...
note: all of these suggestions wont work over night...you have to keep up at this if you want results...

Some places do and some places don't. For one Clairs is only equipt to do first and second holes the FIRST time. anything after that you have to go to places that do more than just ears because it might have to be done with something stronger than a piercing gun. I recommend tattoo shops that have piercers as well. They will be able to do it.

Piercing through scar tissue will hurt much more. The skin just isn't has healthy. It will hurt a lot, especially on sensitive areas. It will heal though, so don't worry.

Since scar tissue has built up in this area, it will be harder to pierce, harder to make sure its straight/won't migrate and it will be harder for you to heal. You will also be at a higher risk for keloids and future scarring. If done by an intelligent and reputable piercer, you should have minimal problems. Just be sure to let the piercer know of your situation so proper adjustments can be made.

Repetitive tissue trauma of same place is not a good choice.
