I am an occultists and I am currently studying Jewish meditation. Well I seem to have come to a road block. The book is telling me to do some thing I am not conferrable with. The task is not hard but I think that if I do the task it will not be me actually wanting to do it.
The task at hand is to do this exercise where I try and draw divine energy from the heavens to empower my soul. I am find with accepting god and all but if I try to bring divine power in to my self I know it will feel like a job rather than some thing in interests me. Kind of like me going in to the old catholic church, it just wont feel right.
Any advice on what to do?
i can do rituals like the middle pillar and LBRP but when it comes to being directly delt with god i just dont feel right. it feels compleetly wrong.

I am a Christian KAbballist that has encountered this same problem in the past. I am uncomfortable with the idea of forcing or drawing divine essence into myself.
I feel though that our problems are a bit different. You should try visualizing that the energy is not fromt he divine but from the universe itself. You may be able to wrap your mind around that approach instead of "drawing from the divine."

i am not Jewish
however i do a similar form of meditation
and i liken it to a collectiveness
where i draw energy from all around me and extend that out little by little
dont think of it as a one to one connection with God ... although ultimately that is what you are achieving with that connection
see God as the power source in all things

I am a Christian. Prior to accepting the Lord I messed with some of the Occultic. What I learned is that it doesn't matter which "thing" that you are messing with, they are all vehicles leading straight to hell. Maybe the check that you feel in your spirit is the Holy Spirit trying to get you to slow down and stop what you are mixing with. There are two powers that you can pull from and I don't believe that you are drawing from the Lord. If in doubt, pray and ask Him to reveal the truth to you.

It is a state of mind that they are asking you to bring yourself to.. I doubt very much if the Devine power will actually jump into your body hon...
It is called meditation and bringing energy into your body by the use of your mind.. does not matter "what" your thought process is. TRY IT.. Can't hurt.

If it doesn't feel right to you, don't do it. Simple as that. If you do not know God, you can not just go into His house and draw out His power. That would be stealing, and a deep part of you knows this. The power IS there to use, but only by those who know Him and acknowledge that it is HIS power, not yours.

Discard the man made crap about drawing divine energy into yourself!
What good would come from this even if such crap was real???
Would it help you pay the bills??
Would it feed some homeless people???
Would it stop some child from suffering???
Would it do anything at all??
NO the why waste your time!
Let go of fantasies and live in reality!!

If theres something that bothers you you dont have to do it, I for one dont mind awakening my kundalini because i know it will help me spiritually. (thats what its called get a book on it to find out what it is you are doing and maybe why it bothers you is because not many people bother with it because of the social stigma on magic)

To try to bring diving power into yourself in this manner is, to invite demonic spirits into your body.. Very dangerous and not recommended. This is not Jewish meditation..
