As you can see... they have no understanding of it, and they don't want to.

Which is why I'm starting to wonder if it's worth even discussing the subject of a god with these people anymore, at all.

I am a Christian and a Bible Student. I never heard such a thing. I dont know of God hating people. He hates sin. I only understand from reading God's Word is a healing, miracle working, loving God. There is healing and miracles through the works of Christ and His name. Works that would cause that are to grow back. It has been done many times.

"Don't stereotype Atheists"

Oh if we read the question again, it does not say 'all atheists' but the question is not the type asked by anyone that believes in god or gods so it is safe to assume the question is always asked by atheists.

I'm atheist. I've never asked that.

I would ask the christians why god "punishes" non-believers but "test" believers. The results of this god's actions against individuals look identical to me.

I'm not a Christian (I know the question is for Christians.... tough) ^_^

The Old Test shows God does not want anyone who is not whole in body or mind to even enter his Temple. Those who are lepers, missing limbs, mentally retarded are Forbidden. You can't even "pisseth on the wall" without a curse thrown at you. ;)

Oddly, I've only ever heard christians say something dumb like that.

I find it hard to believe that athiests would ask why a god they don't believe in hates something. If anything, they're giving christians a hard time.

well you say, god doesn't hate them, he loves every one with all of his heart. But then you tell them that God doesn't interact with the physical world because he gave us free will, and if he interfered in any way then he would be bringing him self down to Satan's level and thus giving him co ownership over all creation. Its that simple!

edit:
lol at sprite.

Shouldn't you provide an example or a link?

I find it hard to believe an atheist would ask why 'God' did anything.

Anyone who asks that or any other rhetorical question has serious self-esteem issues, regardless of their religion, or lack thereof.
