... tell me, do you think you get your monies worth? Do you (at the end of the year) get back your membership dues with savings? I wont lie to you, i think 40% of my costco spendings are towards the food court!

Are you a single person, family, couple?

And, do you buy things that you end up never using (or will spoil too quick) because of the quantity?

When my mother and i first signed up with costco a few years back we'd have a list of 5 items & would exit with 27. Sigh. LOL.

Hey

I think costco is great. It saves a lot of money. They have different stuff then other markets. I buy for the family so i end up spending over 100 dollars. I dont eat at the food court. There thing are bigger in packages but they are cheaper in a different way.

Yes and No. Excluding the food court, you must be a costco member to buy anything at costco ($50/year). However, if you come in with a friend/family member who is a costco member, then you don't need membership. But they must be there with you, because they can't process anything without swiping a membership card first.

Oh yes it's worth it. We (2) only buy things that don't spoil. Like paper towels, TP, dried beans, canned goods, some freezer stuff, things like that. A couple trips to Costco a year is well worth the membership and a lot less to put on the Safeway list!

Its like everything else, you need to exercise self control. I used to be a Costco member, and even worked there for a while back in the late 80s. There were many good buys to be found but the trick was to buy what you needed not what you want. For a family it can be great but it never appeared to be a great value for individuals who didn't need bulk sizes of items.

Im a Sams club member kind of like Costco. and yes if you buy in bulk you get your money back. Im single so I buy a bunch of sodas water toilet paper. All of the essentials in bulk and you can save alot of money. Im single by the way, and stuff sometimes does go bad but that happens when i buy stuuf at the regular store too. So i thinkits a good membership to have.

If they have something you use a lot of regularly, it's a great deal. When my kids were babies, I saved a fortune on diapers and formula. Now it's prescription drugs. Or, if you buy one big ticket item a year (TV, computer, jewelery, etc.) you can save more than your membership fee. I hardly ever buy perishable food there because you need an army to eat it all before it goes bad. Like anything else, you just have to pay attention to what you are doing.

I enjoy Costco shopping. When I go,I take one of my daughters with me.Then we buy in bulk, and split it up. I like the variety they have in rare items that can only be found there.Plus you can taste a lot of different foods for free....GO COSTCO.....I do find it way cheaper.

I think it's well worth it. And I'm forever going to the food court, too. Their pizza is awesome and so are their Churro's, and their hotdogs, heck, everything they have there is good! You can't beat the price anywhere.

But it's just me, my boyfriend and our son (who is 2) and our food doesn't go bad. I mostly get frozen things, so I've got a while to use them. I love those Angus Burgers and those Mystic Pizza's.

Great, now I'm hungry.
