Easiest , cheapest low-tech way is : Stuff it into a bag of appropriate size. Cloth best if rope is damp. Plastic is OK if rope is clean & dry. Just stick one end into bag & keep pushing rope into back starting at that end. Rope will deploy fast & straight. This is method used by whitewater guides for their throw ropes.

Get one of those hose reels that you use to store a garden hose on. Wrap the rope around it. When you need it, just pull on it and it will pull off easily, no twisting or knotting.

What about using one of those round electric cord storing units for your rope? It would roll up easily and unroll to the length you need. And, you could hang it on a hook in your garage or wherever. They're available at any hardware store.

The hardware store has holders for extension cords. They look like two long Hs' end to end. They would work perfectly and they're cheap ($2-3).
